The idea of rewilding is being adopted in the skincare world. Facialist and skincare expert Michaella Bolder explains why it’s worth a try
‘Rewilding’ is a term used for resetting and preserving the skin’s natural microbiome, which includes billions of micro-organisms known as good bacteria.
This acts as your shield and protecting it is the first step to strong and healthy skin. Rewilding restores our skin’s natural barrier function and can lower inflammation while optimising moisture. Look out for products that include prebiotics, probiotics, squalane, ceramides, oats, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, which all nourish and protect the microbiome.
