This week, we test out Blacklock, home to the best roast dinner in London

Missing a slice of the carnivore's heaven that is Blacklock? You're not alone.

Famed for their dry-aged meat and 'whole animal' approach (tastier than it sounds, trust us), Blacklock have launched a new menu for delivery across London - and it's the closest thing you'll get to feasting in their restaurants until they reopen.

The new service features an exclusive menu designed for foods that travel best - including, for the first time in Blacklock history, chicken.

'But I don't live in Soho!' I hear you cry. No bother - households around Shoreditch, Battersea, Wandsworth, and from April, Wood Green and Camden will soon be able to get their meaty fix straight to their doors.

Naturally, in a quest for honesty to our readers, we had to try the entire menu. It did not disappoint.

Iconic staples such as the steak sarnie and Blacklock burger were accompanied by an unforgettable Caesar salad with garlic that'll blow your socks off, and a 'Mac n Four Cheeses' that demands jeans to be unbuttoned just on sight.

Delightfully naughty Pig's Head Nuggets were perfect dipped in the Chop Sauce and Blacklock Gravy, whilst the half roast chicken stole the show, sitting atop a bed of perfectly crisp flatbreads.

And, of course, things were rounded off with the famous white chocolate cheesecake, with rosy rhubarb sitting atop a peak of creamy goodness. All washed down with a signature Old Fashioned, of course.

All packaging is compostable or recyclable, and a tree is planted for every order placed - an ecological initiative that began in lockdown.

Founder Gordon Ker commented, 'the last year has been a massive challenge for us, but we continue to look for silver linings and ways to
support our incredible suppliers, building new opportunities for our team, while offering our guests something completely new.'

It's safe to say that they've succeeded.
