Marianne Cotterill makes dinner a whimsical, colourful affair
Festive tables mean celebration and for me that manifests itself in colour and detail. Decorations aren’t just for hanging on trees and there are so many cool ones around. Paper straw balls from Raj Tent Club are pretty on a place setting and can also double up nicely as a gift (the same goes for the paper crowns from The Shop Floor Project).
Garlands and paper chains look great running along the table and, if you do want to decorate the space above your guests too, Rockett St George sells an adjustable, clamp-on table stand, which adds wow factor wrapped in garlands or hung with a pajaki, a traditional Polish paper chandelier. The good thing about virtually all of these products is that they transcend Christmas and, thankfully, work for almost any party.
