Lay the groundwork on revamping your home with these tiles, says Marianne Cotterill
Tiles aren’t just for bathrooms and kitchens — I’ve always wanted to tile my living room but can’t bring myself to get rid of the floorboards. Ceramic and concrete or cement tiles are a good flooring option as they are durable, easy to maintain and clean, not to mention the huge range of patterns and colours, from geometric and simple to decorative and ornate.
Tiles vary in price, so if you can’t afford the ones you really like you could always buy cheap white tiles from B&Q and channel your inner artist, painting them yourself by using a simple stencil. Annie Sloan chalk paint with a glaze on top would work great for this.
