Their butcher, Turner & George, occupies a charming Victorian building on the corner of St John Street and sells high-end cuts alongside goat, ox heart and London’s most delicious beef bone gravy. 399 St John St, EC1
Arguably one of the most popular butchers in north London, Godfreys is run by Chris Godfrey, the founder’s great grandson. A truly old-school outfit, it sells premium cuts, home-made stocks and more adventurous options including a three-bird roast of goose, capon and pheasant.
