FIT for the LOOVRE

Marianne Cotterill shares her top bathroom buys

Bathrooms still remain a zone where minimalist design rules for many, but recently colour has emerged as a strong trend in fittings and accessories. Another advance is in contrasting textures such as wood, marble, stone, concrete and resin. There are pretty basins with floral patterns — Burlington Bathrooms has lots — or curvaceous glass ones from West One Bathrooms (which come at a price).

A good way to add colour to your bathroom other than with paint and wallpaper is in taps and other functional items such as mirrors, cabinets and even bathmats. The Balineum Flora mirror is particularly lovely. I have recently binned my Ikea bath mat for the Beverly Hills bath runner from Peachy Parrot — a bit of Californian sunshine is most welcome right now.
